Every CRMHA team is required to have at least one qualified Team Safety Person.
Team Safety Persons play an important role in supporting player safety by helping teams follow Hockey Canada safety protocols, maintain required documentation, and ensure injuries and incidents are reported appropriately.
No medical background is required. CRMHA provides guidance and support throughout the season.
All Team Safety Persons must register annually through the CRMHA Volunteer Registration Portal.
The following requirements apply to all Team Officials:

Certification is valid for three (3) years.
Instructions for Completing a Criminal Record Check
To serve as a Team Safety Person, you must complete the Hockey Canada Safety Program (HCSP).
The HCSP provides volunteers with the knowledge and tools required to support player safety, injury prevention, emergency action planning, and injury reporting procedures.

Team Safety Persons help support their team by:
Maintaining the team first aid kit
Assisting with injury and concussion reporting
Supporting emergency action planning
Ensuring required safety documentation is completed
Acting as a liaison with the CRMHA Risk & Safety Director when required
